Vic: Anti-corruption police car regos in criminal hands
Police have confirmed that a man being investigated for Melbourne's underworld killings
has been caught with a list of registration numbers for unmarked police cars.
The cars belong to detectives working for Ceja -- the anti-corruption unit in the Victoria
Police.
Victoria Police spokesman KEVIN LOOMES says the list of registration numbers was found
in the man's wallet by detectives investigating the gangland murders.
This is the latest security breach to affect the Ceja taskforce, with three members
having been sent death threats since the unit was established in 2002.
Victorian opposition police spokesman KIM WELLS says the leak shows the need for the
state government to call a royal commission into police corruption.
Police are investigating how the man got the list of numbers.
