Kim Crounse of Ballston Lake took home eight medals, including six gold, at the recent Empire State Games at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. But who's counting?
Crounse, who has competed in the games for close to 30 years, has over 100 medals in that time. But she isn't counting those, either.
"I go to the games to have fun and I do have fun," she said. "I've loved the sport ever since I was a kid. I had a fantastic time down in Poughkeepsie."
Crounse is a member of the Adirondack District Masters, which has about 150 members. Twenty-five to 30 of them compete in most of the meets. Beside the games, there are the state and national championships each year. The group draws people from the Canadian border to Kingston, …
