NEW PUBLISHER FOR SEATTLE PAPER.(BUSINESS)

NEW YORK -- J.D. Alexander has been named publisher and editor of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, effective Aug. 1.

The announcement was made by Frank A. Bennack, Jr., president and chief executive officer of the Hearst Corp., owner of the Times Union , and Robert J. Danzig, vice president of the Hearst Corp., and general manager of Hearst Newspapers.
